Do Dead Men Walk Down Dowling Street?

Rosie Greer for Pabst Blue Ribbon beer smiles

 a 300 pound grin

  in niggertown

 past Green’s Almeda

  Bar-B-Q and

Frenchy’s Po-Boy

Black sax and not

5th Avenue and no

Neiman-Marcus either

for that matter ’cause

money don’t talk on

 this side of town

 It whispers and screams

Do Dead Men Walk Down

            Dowling Street?

   You tell me

when you see the blue

cars with the bubble

machines cruise

down niggertown looking for bullet-ridden

ghosts of Fred Hampton.
